The Solar Panel Art Series
Many schools in Rwanda are still lit using kerosene lamps. To change this, the Berlin-based magazine ‘The Beam’ teamed up with a few selected street artists in September 2017 to create the ‘Solar Kids School Programme’. Each of the street artists had the job of designing a 100 x 140 cm solar panel to raise funds for this project at auction. Of course, there was no hesitation from the three guys at RON MILLER, who spruced up the solar panel with their classic geisha head. Unlike with their other artworks, the RON MILLER artists decided to forgo their patented mix of techniques and instead concentrated exclusively on the art of graffiti due to the exceptional nature of the surface they were working on.
